Les Bauges

We wanted to visit Anne-Gaëlle and her family in les Bauges, the mountains above Chambery, but were feeling a bit too worn out to do another big climb on the bikes so soon. Jean-Paul and Claude helped us with an alternative plan - getting a ride up into the Massif des Bauges for a hike all together. And to our surprise a few more family members, who we were planning to visit in the weeks to come, showed up to join the day too. It was super fun to see everyone together! We had beautiful weather for a hike through alpine pastures to an overlook of Lake Annecy, then gathered at Anne-Gaëlle's for a meal. Anne-Gaëlle and her husband David barbequed up a storm, her kids Matéo (21 years old) and Nora (19) helped to entertain Claire, and we enjoyed good food and good company over a long late lunch.
