      Hong Kong Disneyland

      April 25 in Hong Kong ⋅ ☁️ 28 °C

We'd played with the idea of visiting Disneyland in Florida some years ago but decided against it for cost reasons. However, as we were already nearby, we decided to spend the day at the Hong Kong version to see what it was like. We arrived early for the 10 a.m. opening, and as we walked up the drive to the entrance, we both felt the excitement building.

After getting through, we started with a train ride around the park to figure out the layout. We then decided to go clockwise and began with the Space Mountain ride. James had assured me this first ride was gentle and not too intense; however, we quickly realized how wrong he was. It was a very fast, very twisty indoor dark thrill ride, which I was not prepared for. I finished feeling a bit shaky in my legs and needed to sit quietly for a few minutes. James loved it. I then felt a bit traumatized by that first ride and was cautious about the rest of the rides.

We did a few more mellow rides, including an Ant-Man and The Wasp ride in the Marvel area and then a boat trip in a lagoon that included a waterfall that was on fire. We then went to the mining village, where we got on another thrilling ride, which was incredible, long, and really loopy and mad. It ended up being our favorite ride, and we had a second go on it before finishing our time in Disneyland.

We did some more rides and saw a Lion King show, which was a bit cheesy but fun, before heading to Toy Story Land, which was one of James's favorites. We went on the Toy Soldiers ride, which was a drop-type ride that I hated and screamed the whole way through (see video), and the toy car ride, which I point-blank refused to go on, as I hate swinging rides after a bad experience on one in the past. James enjoyed it thoroughly.

The new Frozen Land was gorgeous, and we arrived just at sunset, which made everything seem even prettier. The rollercoaster ride was a bit disappointing, though, as it was extremely short, and we'd waited in line longer than the ride lasted. We then did the classic It's A Small World boat ride, which was actually really pleasant, and then we went back to the mining ride for a second turn. It was then dark, and the park was looking twinkly and beautiful as we got some tasty dinner and decided to wander around before the evening firework display. There was a beautiful maze with little miniature princess scenes, which was lovely, and then we rode the teacups before taking up our spot for the display and fireworks. They went on for ages and were very pretty. It was a lovely ending to a really fun day.

      Hong Kong day 11 & 12

      June 4 in Hong Kong ⋅ 🌧 25 °C

Today was the much anticipated Disney day! We had planned to go last week, but neither of us did our research, and it was closed on the day we planned to go!
This week Angel's mum had the week off so she came with us and actually bought the tickets!
It's the smallest Disneyland in the world, so we managed to cover all the areas in the day. Was perfect weather, overcast, so not too hot or rainy. They had a new Frozen area which was built like the town in the film, which was so cool. The first ride was fun, but we queued for 40 mins for the second, and it only lasted maybe 45 seconds!!
We went to a 3D Mickey mouse orchestra screening and a 4D iron man adventure, both of which we got very snazzy glasses for. My favourite area was the Toy Story section, there were toy airplanes and building blocks towering over us. My favourite ride was Hypersonic space mountain, which was the star wars ride. It was an indoor rollercoaster in the dark, the only light coming from the star spotted wall and flashes of tie fighters and star fighters. It was so fast, according to google up to 44mph, and I think I screamed all the way. We went on it later and Angel said they speed it up even more just before it closes to get people through as quick as possible!
My only goal of the day was to meet Stitch! But we heard from multiple sources (employees I made Angel go ask) that he wasn't coming out today :(
Was a really fun day but also very tiring, they had a light show and fireworks in the evening to close off the night before everyone emptied from the park and boarded back on the Disney train home.
After being surrounded by so many people yesterday, I had another island day today. I did originally want to go hiking, but once again the weather was not on my side. I'd previously walked around the north, so just did a loop around the south of the island. Without all the stopping, I can't imagine it'd have taken more than 40 minutes, but I explored every viewpoint and beach I came across.
In Vietnam and Hong Kong, I noticed outdoor exercise equipment everywhere. Even in the seemingly very rural villages in Vietnam, there were static bikes in communal areas, and on the island here they had a little outdoor gym area, even with a section for the elderly.
      Overall a pretty uneventful day.

      Momentous: Nighttime spectacular

      November 10 in Hong Kong ⋅ ☁️ 25 °C

So the spectacular starts at 8:30pm, and even though I paid for vip access still had to lineup from about 7:15pm to ensure I got front row of the vip area, which I did get, so there is no one between me and the castle.

I have added 2 videos from while I was waiting for the main show to start.

      November 10 in Hong Kong ⋅ ☁️ 26 °C

Only one ride I wanted to get in was closed, I also missed getting the train around the park, but apart from that I did everything I wanted so was a very successful day.

Still have the night time spectacular to go, as I have premier access, am first in line.

Had a huge dinner, was lovely but couldn’t finish it.

      Hong Kong Disney part 1

      November 10 in Hong Kong ⋅ ☁️ 25 °C

Today after getting off the trip, it was a taxi to my hotel Disney Hollywood hotel to drop off my bags, then onto Hong Kong Disney.

The taxi ended up being a bit of a faff about as only took cash, and there were no atm’s at the port, which is stupid, luckily was able to get a taxi that stopped at an atm on the way to the hotel.

Arrived at Disney 15 minutes before it opened so my timing was perfect.

I really enjoyed my day, but definitely only need 1 day to get around all the rides and even see a few of the shows.

      Mystic Point Hong Kong Disneyland

      July 3 in Hong Kong ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C

Mystic Point (Chinese: 迷離莊園) is a section of Hong Kong Disneyland that officially opened to the public on 17 May 2013. Prior to that it had a soft opening for a selected audience. It is set in a dense, uncharted rain forest surrounded by mysterious forces and supernatural events. The site features Mystic Manor, a Haunted Mansion style attraction with the same trackless ride system developed at Pooh's Hunny Hunt in Tokyo Disneyland. Mystic Point, along with Grizzly Gulch has been exclusive to Hong Kong Disneyland among all Disney theme parks since opening.[1] Composer Danny Elfman scored the music for the Mystic Manor dark ride attraction.[2] It is the final land to open in Hong Kong Disneyland's three land expansion plan approved in July 2009.Read more

      Znowu Hongkong (Disneyland)

      January 19 in Hong Kong ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

Chyba było warto: dzieci szczęśliwe, my przeżyliśmy i kolejny raz to pójdziemy dopiero z wnukami.

      Disneyland Hongkong

      September 24, 2023 in Hong Kong ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C
