White Xmas Australian style

That involves white sand in place of snow.

We spent most of the day at Glenelg Beach. The kids swam, played with a ball, and made sandcastles. We all had a picnic lunch of bread, good cheeses, olives, and crisps.

It was very hot. The UV Index was 12/12, so we had the curious situation that we abd almost everyone else sheltered under the pontoon.

Later, we had Xmas dinner at our downtown youth hostel. Nice to know they let me count as youth. The 3 course dinner, prepared by chef Lola, consisted of salad and smoked salmon starter, beef and kangaroo steaks with sweet potato and orange carrots ( sous chef Lennox) main course, and meringues with cream and forest fruits for dessert.
