This is a beautiful sandstone complex within the walls of the fort. The detailed decorative carving on some of the buildings is just breathtaking. This king had three wives, and each was of a different religion, so decorative work blended symbology of all religions.

In the palace courtyard there is a life-sized parcheesi layout. Evidently the king played using concubines as playing pieces. 🤔Read more

The interesting thing about this country is the multitude of religions. From Hinduism to Christianity to Muslim to Sikhism and others... So the emperor Akbar decided to marry three women, each representing Hinduism, Christianity and the Muslim religion. The emperor therefore had three palaces built within the city for their respective wives. Only his Hindu wife was made to build a larger palace as she alone gave the entrepreneur a male heir.Read more
