    The kindergarten program is more structured than the play based program observed in year 2.

    The students are encouraged to work independently on their counting activity. Putting 1 bead on a single string then 2 beads on the next string, aiming to create string for the kites they will make.

    The children worked on their problem solving skills working out how much glue they needed on their fingertips to stiffen the string and how to thread the string onto a bead.

    This experience was more structured and the children became bored easily, refusing to complete the activity. The children remained seated however they were disengaged.
