The cutest of towns, perched high up in the edge of the Alps. It was a bit of a mission on the bus to get up here but was well worth it, the views were amazing!

The cobbled streets don't feel like they have changed in years, it was like stepping back in time while wandering around. There was only two restaurants but both amazing, plus there was a famous bakery with fantastic foccacia and the cutest shop selling produce and sauces etc. We ate very well while here!

The town is famous in Italy for being the place of the last witch trials, which is what drew us to visiting, but its so much more than that.Read more

There were two musuems in Triora, and we decided to go for the cheaper one obviously! This was fun to look around, although all in Italian so it was hard to learn much.

There was information about life in Triora in the past, as well as some impressive neolithic archaeological finds from the area. The main draw is the witches though, and they played into this with lots of witchy memorabilia. There was some information about the actual trials too, with mannequins representing the people involved. I would have liked there to have been more facts regarding the events though, but this could have been because not much information actually remains.Read more

We were told by our hosts that this small church had only just been renovated and opened to the public, so we were lucky to be able to see inside. The opening hours were also surprisingly short so we were happy we were able to visit quite easily.

The building itself was quite an unusual design, with doors at the side as well as the front. The inside had been beautifully decorated with murals around every wall, but they had been worn away or bleached by the sun.

The views outside were outstanding, as you would expect with Triora, although quite low compared to the rest of the town it was still perched high up in the mountains.Read more

A bit of a hike on our first day but we were excited to explore and the temperature wasn't too bad!

The views from this cemetery were possibly the best we've ever seen, and the actual graves were well kept and obviously loved.Read more

Heute haben wir ein Lager Mitten im Wald - sehr ruhig und idyllisch, aber das Lagerfeuer lassen wir heute besser ausfallen. Dafür erhoffen wir uns Schutz vor der knallenden Morgensonne.
Manchmal hört man ein tiefes Grummeln aus dem Wald - vielleicht war das aber auch ein knurrender Magen?... Nach der Nudel-Session mit Carbonara und Tomatensoße sollte das aber auch bald verstummen.Read more
