• Post-trip Bogota day tour

    9. december, Colombia ⋅ ☁️ 14 °C

We had an 18-hour layover for our connecting flight, which was perfect for a day trip to Bogotá, a city full of history with a population of about 14 million.
Our guide, Gerald, planned the itinerary very well, with great timing to avoid crowds and minimal walking between attractions. We took the cable car up to Mount Monserrate, enjoying views of the city and spotting hummingbirds and other birds (I still need to look up their names). Later, we visited the Museo del Oro (Gold Museum), which impressed us with its rich history and the remarkable craftsmanship of Indigenous peoples before the Spanish era.
After the museum, we strolled through the streets to see sculptures and monuments, getting a quick sense of Bogotá’s history, culture, and markets. By pure luck, we ran into a man and a woman (Gerald recognized them) who were winners for making the best-tasting coffee—he in Colombia and she in France. We were bold enough to ask them for a group photo. Then we visited their shop and tasted real Colombian coffee.
