Tropical Botanical Garden 中科院西双版纳植物园

The Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was founded in 1959 under the leadership of Chinese botanist Mr. Cai Xitao. Covering an area of approximately 1,125 hectares, the garden houses over 14,000 species of living plants and features 39 specialized plant zones. It also preserves a primeval tropical rainforest spanning about 250 square kilometers. It is the largest botanical garden in China with the richest collection of species and the most specialized zones. Moreover, it holds the world record for the largest number of plant species conserved outdoors and the most plant taxa displayed to the public.
中国科学院西双版纳热带植物园由中国植物学家蔡希陶先生于1959年领导创建。全园占地面积约1125公顷，收集活植物14,000多种多种，建有39个植物专类区，保存有一片面积约250平方千米的原始热带雨林，是中国面积最大、收集物种最丰富、专类园区最多的植物园，也是世界上户外保存植物种数和向公众展示的植物类群数最多的植物园。Læs mere
