Mengle Grand Buddha Temple 勐泐大佛寺

Mengle Grand Buddha Temple is a magnificent Theravada Buddhist temple located in Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is one of the largest and most historically significant Buddhist temples in Yunnan Province. The temple was rebuilt on the original site of the ancient Dai royal temple, "Jingpiao Buddhist Temple," which was first established during the Ming Dynasty, giving it profound historical and cultural value.
The temple enshrines a statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, standing over 49 meters tall, making it one of the largest Buddha statues in Yunnan Province. The temple also features the Four Nations Hall (Thailand, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and Laos), which commemorates the spread of Theravada Buddhism.
勐泐大佛寺是位于云南省西双版纳傣族自治州景洪市的一座宏伟的南传佛教寺院，是云南省规模最大、历史最悠久的佛教寺庙之一 。寺院在古代傣王朝的皇家寺院“景飘佛寺”的原址上恢复重建，始建于明代，具有深厚的历史和文化价值 。
