• Brussels Atomium 布鲁塞尔原子球塔

    July 24 in Belgium ⋅ ☁️ 23 °C

The Atomium is a model of an iron crystal enlarged 165 billion times. Nine spheres, each 18 meters in diameter, are connected by hollow tubes 29 meters long, with a total height of 102 meters. It was built for the 1958 Brussels World's Fair and has since become an iconic landmark in Brussels. The nine spheres represent the nine provinces of Belgium and the nine member states of the then European Economic Community. An elevator takes visitors to the top sphere, which features 360‑degree viewing and a restaurant. Escalators lead to the other spheres, where exhibitions on the design and construction process of the Atomium are on display.
