• Grenoble Bubbles 格勒诺布尔泡泡

    August 2 in France ⋅ ☀️ 36 °C

After leaving Annecy, we passed through Grenoble. There's something fun we couldn't miss.
Grenoble has the famous Grenoble-Bastille cable car (Téléphérique de Grenoble Bastille). Its iconic spherical transparent cabins are lovingly called "Les Bulles" (the Bubbles), and it's an experience not to be missed in this city. The cable car connects downtown Grenoble with the Bastille fortress (Fort de la Bastille). It opened on September 29, 1934, making it one of the world's earliest urban cable cars. The "Bubble" cabins were introduced in 1976, made of plexiglass and aluminum with a spherical transparent design. This year is the 50 year anniversary. Once on the top of Bastille fortress, we looked out over the city, the Alps, and someone said on a clear day we can even see Mont Blanc.
