After the Danube River Cruise booking confirmation, the group (of 5 families) all agreed that we should go another road trip touring the Balkans. While 4 families liked the idea of joining bus tour, I decided to go self drive. The bus tour went counterclockwise, we took the opposite direction.

Monument to the ruins of the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade
Friday April 14th in the morning we visited the site of the Chinese Embassy in the former Yugoslavia to pay tribute to the deceased. In May 1999, the U.S. military destroyed the Chinese Embassy in Yugoslavia with five precision-guided bombs, killing three and wounded more than twenty.

On the way from Plitvice Lakes National Park to Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, we pass the War Museum in Karlovac-Turani.
After Tito's death, Yugoslavia disintegrated, and in the following ten years, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and other former Yugoslav member states fell into civil war, and then NATO's large-scale bombing of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, causing countless casualties and property losses, as well as a large number of historic buildings destroyed.

Back to Budapest, we pre-booked this hotel very close to the airport for a restful night. Dinner at hotel restaurant was surprisingly good. Room was spacious and extremely clean. Tong Lin and Jin Ning couple were also checked in, we were booked the same flight next morning. With help of the front desk staff we confirmed next morning airport shuttle as well as bagged early breakfast including drink and fruits. Perfect.
回到布达佩斯，入住预定的机场附近的酒店，好好休息一晚。酒店餐厅的晚餐出乎意料地好。房间很宽敞，非常干净。参加大巴旅游的林潼和宁静夫妇也办理了入住手续，我们乘转天早上同一航班回多伦多。在前台工作人员的帮助下，我们确认了第二天早上的机场班车以及包括饮料和水果在内的提前早餐。此次旅程堪称完美。Read more
