• Everyday Day

    November 7, 2020 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

Started the day watering the new trees we have planted over the last six months. This involves driving around towing a trailer with a tank full of water and a pump and fire hose attached. It is a fire fighting set up but we have used it more to water young trees and during the various droughts it has saved many young trees. It is not so long since we had rain but it is getting warmer and we want the trees to get established. Also watered the new plantings at the cottage.

John used the new bore but said it had a slight sulphur smell so we need to take some samples into town for testing. We are closer to getting a tank for the bore water.

We are getting a lot of enjoyment from our resident family of herons. Not sure if we have two
parents and three young or one parent and four young. We sit on the verandah having a cuppa and they practise flying, gliding and landing on the roof or in nearby trees. It is like our own personal show.

Plenty of painting got done in the afternoon. Garden screen finished - just need to do the bore screen so it matches as it is a bit weather worn.
