• Dip Falls and Big Tree

    29. oktober 2022, Australia ⋅ ☁️ 11 °C

Organised last night that we would have a cooked breakfast this morning at 8.00am. So, tea, muesli, egg and bacon followed by a coffee, all prepared by our hosts, Rhonda and Chris.

Our plan for the day was to visit Dip Falls and the Big Tree and then head to the Rhododendron Gardens at Burnie before heading to Cradle Mountain for tonight's accommodation.

On the way we realised we had been a tad ambitious with what we were to fit in. We decided to miss the Rhododendron Gardens.

Dip Falls were spectacular! It was a steep walk to the viewing platform at the base of the falls, made easier by a good walkway and steps with a handrail - if 220 steps each way can be considered easy!

The big tree is wrongly named - it should be the enormous tree or the gigantic tree. It really is difficult to express how big it is.

Drove to Wynyard for lunch and then headed for Cradle Mountain.
