Cradle Mountain.

The drive from Wynyard to Cradle Mountain is very picturesque along a winding road.

The forestry people seem to be changing from pines to Blue gums as their plantation timber. There are large felled areas with huge stacks of logs ready for transportation.

Arrived at Cradle Mountain Lodge about 3.00pm, registered and went to our room. Trish and Paul arrived soon after us. Even though the weather was quite bleak, Janette and I went for one of the short walks available to Pencil Pine Falls. It's an easy ten minute walk each way along a boardwalk with steps and handrail.

We were booked into the restaurant for dinner at 6.30pm, so arranged to meet for drinks in the lounge, by the fire, at 5.30.
