    Oatlands, Ross, Campbell Town.

    Checked out of the Grand Chancellor, Hobart and headed north on the Midland Hwy.

    First stop was Oatlands for breakfast. Oatlands is best known for its windmill which has been restored and grinds wheat into flour. These days there is also a distillery at the mill.

    Replete with food, we continued on to Ross. Ross is by far the most interesting and historic town on this leg.

    We parked at the old bridge and then took the path to the church and the female factory. The more we see, the more obvious it is that convicts were little more than slaves.

    After walking back to the car, we drove around to a woodwork shop and the wool centre - beautiful woollen clothes and an interesting museum. A slow drive through the town and we then headed to Campbell Town and a light lunch
