We met a lady at Hever Castle, Tam from Montana, who was on her own so offered she could come and spend the day touring with us.

After a delicious full breakfast at Hever Castle we headed for Whitstable. Whitstable is famous for its seafood and oysters in particular. Oysters have been harvested here way back to Roman times.

A real fishing town with lots of character. We lunched on oysters and crab and watched ‘The Offy’ (short for off-licence), which was opposite, getting a face lift. We followed lunch with a long walk getting lots of sea air.

Whitstable is only about 5 miles from Canterbury where we will spend the afternoon and have dinner and is a great contrast to any where else we have been.
