Reykjavik - Day 2

The next day, we set out to explore the city centre. Most of the houses are no more than two storeys because of the frequency of earthquakes. Buildings over two storeys need special approval from the authorities. For a small population – just under 400,000 in the whole country and with two thirds residing in Reykjavik and the surrounding areas – the city is sprawled across a large area, but still it can be easily walked.

It wasn’t long before the next episode of the Destructive World began. Somehow the ugly giraffe statue sitting on the TV cabinet fell onto the ground, shattering all four legs. It had clearly been broken previously with the remnants of glue still visible. Fortunately, MacGyver (aka Jason McDonald) had come prepared with shoe glue. Fixed. No-one would ever know the difference, unless it falls again. There were also a few cross over episodes with the Lost World but we won’t mention that 😂.Weiterlesen
