Interesting local character who helped to put Bath on the aristocratic map. He brought in lots of money...and made lots of money by gambling with those aristocrats - and started the first "eHarmony" service for matching up eligible nobles for marriage..and he got a percentage off of the woman's dowry with a successful match.
