    Lake Aniwhenua wir kommen

    September 14, 2017 in New Zealand ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

    Lake Aniwhenua, here we come

After three really great days at Port Jackson we went again along the coast on the way to Coromandel. Swetlana and Hubert also survived the second tour over gravel road without problems. On the way to the east coast to a small stopover in Kuaotunu we stopped at the Maungataururu lookout and enjoyed a great view towards Coromandel and our destination Kuaotunu. As we arrived in Kuaotunu it was too windy and the weather was not great either. So we continued our trip and went along the coast, through many small towns and villages down to Te Puna. It was already evening and we could only see the lights of Tauranga and the surrounding area. Overnight we stayed on a relatively large campsite (we did not even notice it in the evening) before we finally tackled the last stage to Lake Aniwhenua. A small lake, in the middle of a forest. As soon as we arrived there was only one thing left: hanging up the hammock and enjoy the next two nights!
