Soviet Bratislava

The final stop on the tour of Bratislava was a trip around the socialist parts of the city. This included a hike up to the Slavin monument, a war memorial for Soviet soldiers who died liberating Slovakia from Nazi Germany. After this we stopped at a building voted the worst in the world (it resembles an upside down pyramid and is now a TV HQ for a national Slovakia channel). Then final it was on to independent square which includes plenty of Soviet building, adorned with art work depicting the roles of the Soviet workers, from farmers to mechanics, soldiers to housewife.Leggi altro
