Palace of the Parliament

First stop on the trip was the Palace of the Parliament. One of the largest buildings in the world, and the heaviest, it was built by the communist party, particularly the dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu. However, the government was overthrown and communism removed before the building was finished. Some of the communist elements remain, such as two large stair cases which was made purely for the leader and his wife to walk down.
