Boats, harbours, art and a column

    March 11, 2023 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 8 °C

Finishing up my short time in Baltimore I visited the old boats dotted around the port, the most interesting was the US submarine Torsk, on August 15th 1945 it sank two Japanese boats, this was the last US enemy ships sank during the war.

After that I visited the Walter Art museum for a brief look art of the America’s and in particular Native Americans.

Finally, I finished up the day at the Washington monument (not the one in DC), this one is 54 metre landmark dedicated to President George Washington. It was 227 steps to the top, but using the step machine in the gym finally paid off as it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. At the top you are rewarded with views across Baltimore!
