• Statue of Liberty (Liberty Island)

    Finally made it to the Statue of Liberty, I hadn’t planned to visit Liberty Island, but the ferry to Ellis Island, included a free return trip to the statue. So I decided to head over and see the girl in person.

    The Statue of Liberty was dedicated in 1886 and was named "The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World,” it was a gift from the people of France to the United States standing for democracy, liberty and freedom.

    The statue was far smaller than I thought it would be, with the majority of the height coming from the base. But she was beautiful, particularly when the sun briefly showed an appearance. The island contained a museum, cafe and shop. But my god it was cold!! And it had started to snow but the time I got there.

    After visiting the statue I headed back to New York for my exploring!
