Arrived in Geneva!

Well I’ve arrived in Geneva, and it’s my first trip of 2019 and country number 37!! 🇨🇭🗺✈️
La Rade et Jet d'Eau

Started my day with the Geneva water front with a lovely walk along the La Rade! This included seeing the Jet d’Eau, literally a jet of water, pretty accurate when it’s 140m water fountain. TheLeggi altro
Exploring the old town

After walking around the water front I made my way to the old town and explored the beautiful narrow streets and amazing old buildings, so much history!
St. Peter Cathedral

What a historic cathedral this was. Built between 1150 and 1230 as a Roman Catholic Church for Geneva, it later became the centre for the reformation in the 1500 and still to do this day as JohnLeggi altro
Reformation Wall

Sticking with the reformation theme here by visiting te reformation wall, built as a monument to all those involved. But it is absolutely freezing so the next thing I’m doing is definitely going toLeggi altro

Museum of Art and History

Last stop of the day at the museum of art and history escaping the cold and rain while learning more about this amazing city!
Tour of the United Nations Geneva

Visited the scientific wonder that is CERN, really fascinating museum that explained all about the work that is done here, really interesting, but went right over my head haha!
France!

Just to say I did it, I walked into France!
Geneva at Night!

Sunset walk along the lake and then finished up with seeing the city at night, wonderful end to a great day!
Walking Tour

First stop on my last day in Geneva is a walking tour led by history students at the local university! Was a fantastic tour, lasting nearly 3 hours and took in all the major sites, some I’d seen andLeggi altro
Lovely Mountains!

Italian village of Carouge

Back to France I go and this time to a tiny town on the border! Lovely to see how quickly the architecture changes just by crossing an almost invisible border. Time for a coffee and something to eatLeggi altro
Final Stop!

Finals top on my tour is Geneva’s Cathedral and one of the tallest parts of the city! This was an amazing way to end my time in the city and a great way too see just how beautiful this place is!
