Today was a great day, I walked to a bakery this morning and bought a few items for breakfast before we started our journey. We knew we had 15.50 miles ahead of us and for at least 10 miles we’d have no place to get water. To our surprise we hit mile 4.40 and there was a little cafe so we all stopped and enjoyed coffee and fresh OJ. While sitting there our hermano Jose showed up, he gave me his shell necklace and all of us patches for our backpacks. One of those special moments on the Caminó.
Around mile 10 we stopped to eat our sandwiches we made and then continued our walk.
I need to add I’ve walked the last two days in my Birkenstock’s and Injinji socks and my feet feel fantastic. I was getting some heel pain (plantar) and it’s now disappeared.
It was a beautiful day the sun was finally shining and there was a gentle breeze. Jav and I walked quite a while with Jose and then sat and had a cold beer with him at our Albergue.
We’re staying in a room with four bunk beds and a mattress on the floor. Quarters are tight but we grateful to have a place to lay our heads.
We shared a nice meal with Jim and Melanie, I had some wonderful pumpkin soup. We all enjoyed and will be turning in early. Buen Caminó ❤️
