Day 551: Back to Prague

Not much happening today, we left our truck stop border hotel and drove south-west into Germany and then turned south towards Prague. We had a hotel booked in a town about 20 minutes from Prague airport, but about 40 minutes from Prague if that makes sense. It was a nice hotel, probably a bit nicer than usual, and we were very surprised to find out on checking in that they didn't allow pets!

Apparently it was a change of policy, but they had forgotten to update their listing on hotels.com which we'd booked through. We showed them where it said pets allowed, and they let us stay - thankfully! Headed into the town for a Vietnamese dinner, probably the last one for a while! The town itself was basically a dump with nothing happening, just a boring industrial satellite town I guess. We mused about how people wax lyrical about off-the-beaten-path holidays and seeing how the real people live - the reality is that 99% of the time seeing "how the locals live" isn't very exciting or appealing.Read more
