Te Araroa - Tag 1

🇩🇪 Tag 1: 24 km

Am Morgen ging es mit dem Shuttle kurz ans Cape Reinga, den offiziellen Startpunkt des Te Araroa. Da der erste Abschnitt am Strand aber gesperrt ist, fuhren wir zurück an den Te Paki Fluss, um dann an den Strand zu laufen. Schon am ersten Tag haben wir einen Wal gesehen, leider ist er auf dem Strand aufgelaufen 😐 ein weiteres Highlight waren die wilden Pferde, die hier im angrenzenden Wald leben. Ans übernachten im Zelt muss ich mich aber erst noch gewöhnen 🤔

In the morning we took the shuttle to Cape Reinga, the official starting point of Te Araroa. Since the first section of the beach is closed, we drove back to the Te Paki River and then walked to the beach. We saw a whale on the first day, but unfortunately it ran onto the beach 😐 another highlight were the wild horses that live in the adjacent forest. But I still have to get used to sleeping in a tent 🤔Read more
