Te Araroa - Tag 93

🇩🇪 Tag 93: 32 km Tin Hut - Stodys Hut

Am Morgen hatten wir wieder einen strahlend blauen Himmel, die Berge waren noch mit Schnee bestäubt. Dementsprechend kalt war es, aber beim Anstieg auf dem Martha Saddle wurde es einem gleich warm. Oben angekommen öffnete sich der Blick ins grüne Timaru Tal. Der Fluss war durch die Schneeschmelze sehr grau. Auf dem Weg durch das Tal musste dieser sehr oft gequert werden und der Weg ging immer auf und ab. Der finale Aufstieg zur Stodys Hut ging gefühlt senkrecht nach oben. Eigentlich wollte ich noch weiter, aber nach 1.800 m war ich k.o. 🙈

In the morning we had a bright blue sky again, the mountains were still powdered with snow. That’s why it was very cold but on the climb towards Martha saddle one really got warm. At the top the view opened into the green Timaru valley. Due to the snow melting the river was very gray. On the way through the valley the river had to be crossed very often and the trail always went up and down. The final ascent to Stodys Hut felt like going straight up. Originally I wanted to continue but after 1,800 m I was knocked out. 🙈Read more
