Meet Ralph. Serve a bucket load of years in Ecuador. He greeted us at the door and promptly set us down and started talking about the good old days. He thoughts were slow and deliberate. Ralph’s wife died several years ago and openly admitted that the last few years had taken a great toll on his health since he was the caregiver of his dementia’s wife. Ralph turned 96 yesterday.

We talked fast, exchanging facts and people we knew from GMU days and our history.

Ralph related stories of being in Ecuador among the head hunters. He also acknowledged God being sovereign but wondered why God allowed his brother to die of cancer at a young age of 36. They were very close.

Soon, his son and his wife dropped by to feed us lunch and again we were exchanging who knew who. We talked about what a wonderful time we’ll all have in heaven meeting up with others.

Ralph is a true servant of God. A precious retired servant of the Lord.
