• Part 2 of visiting the Retirees

    17. marts, Forenede Stater ⋅ ☁️ 54 °F

We continued our journey from Go Ye Village to Siloam Springs, Arkansas—a drive of just over an hour.

I rode with the Joneses, and along the way we had a stimulating conversation about how best to encourage and care for the retirees. We shared helpful insights on asking thoughtful questions, while also remembering the importance of simply listening well. They also spoke with anticipation about an upcoming cruise in September.

When we arrived, we gathered around the kitchen table in the home of Bob and Sylvia Lloyd. It was a special time. Sylvia, now 93, has an extraordinary memory. She warmly recounted her courtship with Bob and their years of ministry throughout Latin America. Considering the stroke she suffered about two years ago, which affected her right eye, her clarity and recall were remarkable. She remembered names, dates, and fellow servants from their time with CAM in Panama and Mexico with vivid detail.

It was truly a delightful visit. We closed our time together in prayer before continuing on our journey.

We had just learned that Ellen and her family were spending Spring Break week in Branson, Missouri, so we made our way there for 1 day and 2 nights.

What a joy it was to spend time with Sylvia and Bob—faithful servants of the Lord who have dedicated their lives to sharing the Gospel

We stopped to say “hello” to the Hansens as we were leaving town.
