    Met Casey AA flight attendant

    September 14, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 84 °F

We “stood by” for an earlier flight to DCA and then connecting to Orlando.

We spent an hour or so in the “the Club DFW”. Small but nice.

We were cleared for the 10am flight to DCA and the gate agent re assigned us to the Exit row so we could sit together. Nice!

As the flight attendants were giving their safety demonstration, Glenn elbowed me and said “Judy, you follow that gal on YouTube!”

Sure enough. Casey. She puts out a video like every week. Sweet gal. Since she had a 3 hour sit, we sat and chatted for an hour!

And besides this “divine appointment”, we got a complimentary upgrade to first class on the DC to Orlando portion!

We had an enjoyable visit with Scott and Barbara.

On Sunday, we had a late breakfast, then I took a much needed nap after our long travel day on Saturday.

We went to the movie to see God isn’t Dead after lunch at BJs. Good movie. And good food.

We played Chronology and Kings Corner.

  • Visiting WBT and retiree

    September 16, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 81 °F

We stopped by the headquarters of Wycliffe Bible Translators and got a quick 30 minute tour. Glenn located the Mazahua Bible that Don and Shirley had translated back in the 1960’s and 1970’s. We visited briefly with Deb Borland who served on the Moody Alumni board with me.

We also stopped at a park and listened to the broadcast of the “celebration of Life” service for Dr. George Sweeting, the president while we were at Moody Bible Institute in 1973-1978 when we were students there in Chicago.

Afterwards we stopped by to see Margie Veith who lived and served with her husband in Guatemala back from 1958-mid eighties. What a musical and talented woman.

Then we drove on to Sanford where the New Tribes (now Ethnos360) headquarters is located.

We had a dinner kickoff for our 2 day summit. More tomorrow.

  • Cam and Mary Hurst

    September 18, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 90 °F

We had a full day of meetings. Julie from GlobalSwitchboard learning the new program of providing our senior services to others such as missionary experience or even technical stuff.

Before we left in the afternoon to head towards the airport, our NTM friends from Bolivia joined us for lunch. Although we didn’t have much working challenges together, we did see each other from time to time.

We sat in the exit row to Dallas. And then when we flew to Tyler, I got a complimentary upgrade. Too bad, sitting in first class only lasted 24 minutes.

We’re home for 2 days before we head up to Oklahoma for a mission conference.
