• Four More Days ...

    8 lutego, Tajlandia ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

We both felt so tired when we woke up. I know, for me, it was because I was awakened in the night with considerable bloating, belching and burping. I'm guessing something that we ate last night at Maithy's didn't agree with me. Fortunately, the only consequences were air. I am quite fine now! 👏👏

I was so tired, however, that I used my skin sensitive roll on suncreen on my armpits this morning!! 😆 Oh my ... I guess I can lay on a chaise lounge with no fear of burning that delicate tissue! But ... in all honesty ... I have no desire to lay by the water today.

Dare I say ... I am getting tired of the heat. Eeeeek. I apologize if that sounds ungrateful ... but ... my rash has developed on my legs now. Grrrr.

As I write this I can see that you are enjoying a balmy -21 C with wind chills making it feel like -32C. We are at +29 at 10:00AM but it feels like +34C. Thank goodness for a wee bit of cloud cover.

One thing that this trip has taught us is that we are not interested in hot, beachy vacations anymore. Neither of us can tolerate the heat the way we used to ... and of course with wearing sleeves ... the skin on my arms is getting better, but my legs are now all rashy. Sigh.

So, we are planning to stay out of the sun as much as possible today. After another great breakfast, the old boy recommended going back for another foot massage because we needed to go that way to take our laundry! I suggested we try something new ... so ... we went to a different spa.

The old boy was reluctant because it was $100BAT more per person and they wanted payment up front. I could feel him bristling, but he was a good sport. It turned out that we got a salt scrub to begin with and ended with a nice ginger tea ... so, he was happy with our choice. All in all, it was very relaxing and, yes, the old boy dozed off again! 😴😴

We are playing bridge again at 2:00pm, but this time we are bringing our laptops and iPads down. Linda (or Wheel & Anchor rep) is going to show us how to play with each other online! And, for that matter, it will be great because we can ay online with folks from our Bridge Club once we get home. The old boy and I can be partners online, so that will give us more practice playing together!

Neither of us were very hungry for lunch, so we just nibbled on some cashews after Bridge.

And then, we got freshened up for our farewell dinner tonight. We are doing it a day early because a couple of gals in our group are leaving a day early. We went to the Samui Cultural Center. It was a spectacular venue ... with tables set up outside and a musician who entertained us! Well ... we had many very talented people in our group who sang and performed! It was absolutely delightful!

We also deposited our Secret Santa gifts in the designated spot so they could be delivered anonymously! From what I could tell, many people were very delighted with their gifts. Many of them figured out who their Secret Santa was! I have no idea who bought me my purse and wallet, but I love them. And, they will come in handy when we are in Bali!

I am thinking that tonight will be one of my favorite memories of our time here together in Koh Samui! We made some wonderful new friends! And, hopefully our paths will cross one day in the future!

It's really going to be hard to bid farewell to these folks over the next few days! My heart is already starting to feel sad that we won't be sharing time with all of them after tomorrow. I'm grateful, however, for all the warmth I will carry with me as a result of this shared experience. 🙌 But, for now, bed!! 😴😴😴😴

    With heartfelt gratitude,
    ❤️ k&j ❤️
