Texel to Vlieland

After arriving on Texel yesterday we very gingerly explored the island and ended up in Cocksdorp to wait for the ferry to Vlieland. The boat was a large fishing vessel with a specially adapted gangway on the front. We set of across the narrow channel whilst the seals were watching on. When we got to the other side the ship beached itself on the sandbank and the gangway was pushed out (see photo), we then all disembarked onto the soggy sandbank. A large wheeled truck came to pick us all up. Loading the truck was even more interested by the steep ramp where we had to push up our bikes and tandem!
