    Bath Spa, Paris, Stuttgart, Munich..

    All in one day? Yes hopefully. 5:30 train from Bath to Paddington, 9:30 train to Paris, 14.00 train to Stuttgart. This is were it started to go wrong! 20 min delay into Stuttgart due to a border control check. This delayed us enough to miss our connection in Stuttgard. All in all 1 hour late, not bad for a journey lasting most of the day! But at least no planes involvedEn savoir plus

    Neuburg an dem Danube

    Having gravel bikes available in Ingolstadt is very convenient. No hassel with transporting bikes on public transport or on aeroplanes!
    Marie-Louise planned us a decent 56k mixed surface ride through forests, fields, along the river and through towns. Very nice! Aidi has definitely left it's stamp on the area and we passed the multi surface test track where several Audi were making there way round a very wet track!En savoir plus

    Eichstätt road ride

    A blustery autumn ride to Eichstätt, a very pretty Bavarian town. Taking in quite a few very quiet well maintained cycle routes. Altstadt Café was bustling with brunch customers and my first German toasted cheese sandwich found a great welcome In my stomach.     Ingolstadt to Landshut

    Set off from Ingolstadt, nice and early on our first leg of our mini Bavarian tour. On borrowed gravel bikes with just a few bags and very few clothes we set off. Mostly wind in the back or from the side so made good progress to have früstuck in Mainburg. Another couple of hours got us to Landshut and into our appartement.
    Quick visit to Lidl and dinner was quick on the table! Munich tomorrow! 77 km    En savoir plus

    Landhut to Munich on D11

    Sunny start of the day, managed to get a bigger rooms so we could bring the bikes in! We'll done that man at Apartimo Ap Serviced Appartement!
    Most of the way along the river Isar on an off-road cycle path. Very autumnal and the sun and lack of wind and hills certainly helped to make it a great ride. The Altstadt in Landshut was very bavarian with grand old painted houses with fancy murals. A pity that all the centres so far have building work going in, none off them seemed to be 'finished', maybe by Christmas time they'll be done!

    Munich to Rosenheim

    SERVUS = latin for 'I am your humble servant' is the greeting you use in Bavaria. Today we rode from Munich to Rosenheim on the D11 cycle way, about 66 km. A very nice ride too, half of it along the river Mangfall. Riding gravel bikes has certainly given us another level of freedom about were we can choose to go and certainly around here the nices stretches were on gravel! Servus! 67 kmEn savoir plus

    Rosenheim to Aschau im Chiemgau

    A very misty start of the day but it quickly made way to sunshine as we started the foothills of the Bavarian Alps. The meadows and houses had a distinctive alpine look to them and that with the autumn colours was absolutely splendid. Our highlight was the lunch stop at the Fisch Hütte Rieter on the Chiemsee. Only reachable by foot or bike, the basic restaurant serves mostly trout from the nearby lake and you van have your own trout put on the BBQ outside! Afterwards we wound our way up the mountain to our weekend appartement with Marie-Louise, Tom and Camilla. 47kmEn savoir plus
