Masjit Raya Baiturrahman is the most famous landmark of Banda Aceh. This reason for this is not its undeniable beauty and originality (no other mosque in Indonesia looks like this) but the sad fame itEn savoir plus
After leaving the mosque we went to the well-known Tsunami museum where one learns about the causes and effects of the Vulcano eruption that caused the tsunami. Afterwards we took a break at a roofEn savoir plus
My driver Putra later took me on a drive along the coast. On the way there I had the chance to capture some Banda Aceh daily life along the river.
Watched the sunset over the ocean then had some soto ayam at a local warung.
What a lovely day!
The next morning, after a hearty breakfast, Putra took me to a viewpoint and to the beach close to Banda Aceh. I really fell in love with the place and I'm seriously hoping to be back.
After enjoying the nice view with Pulau Weh in the background, we went to a harbour where I got introduced to Aceh style fishing boats. Afterwards we went to see one of the most important landmarks -En savoir plus
Back at my favorite place in Aceh, back for a matcha Latte and some dim sum. Yummy!
