This fabulous new coffee shop serving Indonesian coffee and lots of yummy snacks has recently opened at Terminal 2. I love the interior as it reflects modern Indonesian life style. Too bad that there is yet no branch outside of the airport.Leggi altro

In march, Lombok is still amazingly green! Beautiful views from the plane. However, that did not make me want to change my plans and thus I hopped onto a small speedboat to Gili T which I shared with a really nice Korean family... leaving the green rice fields but also the threatening sky behind...Leggi altro

First afternoon on Gili T

Arrived earlier than expected at my accomodation - Karma Kayak - which I had discovered during my stay on the island last year. They are on the quiet side of the island, right at the beach and they have really nice bungalows. I was the only guest for the first 4 nights and had the attention of all the staff members which was awesome. Everybody was very nice and I had a relaxing stay despite all of the work I had to do. My first full day on Gili T I mainly spent on my computer at the Banyan Tree, however, I'd never skip the breakfast or a sundowner at the beach. There should always be enough time for that.

Had to stop for a sundowner on the way back "home". There are many places to have one on the way, it was hard to decide where to stay. So I picked the one with the coolest furniture.

I mainly worked on my last day on Gili T as the weather wasn't the best. It was too windy to take the breakfast on the beach, so I took it in the open restaurant area, which is also really nice. Karma Kayak is such a beautiful place to stay. When the rain stopped I went for a stroll and ended up at the Banyan Tree once more...Leggi altro

Because of Nyepi, a Hindu holiday celebrated in Bali, a lot of tourists arrived that day so it was a good time to go out and hit the dancefloor. I checked out the local market, had one last dinner at the beach and finally met three great women with whom I spend some hours on the dancefloor. On my way back it began to rain so I arrived "home" completely soaked but very happy :-) .Leggi altro

I had breakfast on the beach one last time before I took the horse carriage to the Banyan Tree (where I had one last café latte). Then took the speedboat to Gili Air and hopped onto another horse carriage to my new home. The place was equally nice.
