Camp #81 - El Espíritu de la Montaña

$5 entry up the private road
$7 per person, per night to camp.
$19 in total, but we have views of El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua.

To get here it takes around 30 minutes up the private track, which is a track you really want a 4x4 with high clearance. Most tourist come on a large safari style bus truck and you can rent a tent plus sleeping bag at the top and camp the night, but of course we had the luxury of our own home.

The views of sunrise from here is meant to be amazing. We got up at 5:30 to watch and film sunrise, and unfortunately it was mostly clouded over. So we watched for a bit before deciding to pack up and hit the road (it's a double crossing day into Honduras and Nicaragua)

Regardless, it was a great spot to visit, some good views and a much cooler place to sleep as it was much higher and in a pine tree forest than where we had been sleeping recently.Lue lisää
