After 18 hours of travelling, we landed in Nairobi. There was initially some confusion about how we would get to the terminal. After a bus ride with an ex-Swissport bus (the whole airport seems to run on old swissport equipment), we claered immigration and got our bikes, all in under 30 minutes. Whup-whup!

However, the step of getting sim-cards, data, and setting up M-pesa - the universal payment system in Kenya - took over an hour 😅

We had organised transport for us and the bikes from the airport to Mlango Farm, our stay for tonight, in advance. But somehow, Peter, our driver, was still surprised to see two large bikeboxes. Luckily, they just about fit into the car, with Tim and I spending the next 2h sharing the front passanger seat.

We still had to run some errands, and poor Peter did his best to help us out and get us to the right places, which led to quite a few detours, time spent in traffic jams and somewhat of a Nairobi city-tour.

Once areived at Mlango Farm, we finally assembled our bikes, enjoyed a yummie home-grown veggy dinner to replenish our energy reserves, and look forward to a good night's sleep before starting on the KBO tomorrow 🫶😴
