The first sunrise in the US

We got up early this morning to drive up to Cadalac Mountain (1500 ft) to where the sunrise is first seen in the US. Cadalac Mountain is in Acadia National Park 20 minutes from Bar Harbor. We got there about 40 minutes before sunrise and almost didn't get a parking spot. All were disappointed because the fog didn't lift until well after sunrise.Læs mere

We decided to see the eastern most point of the US and visit the Quaddy Head Lighthouse. At this point Canada was only a few miles north so we decided to go to the Mullholland Point Lighthouse. When the Canadian Border agent asked us how long we were going to stay in Canada she laughed when we told her "only 15 minutes".Læs mere
