BRAGA: Santuario do Bom Jesus do Monte

In addition to the magnificent church and the beautiful staircase, in the Santuario do Bom Jesus do Monte there is a wonderful garden, with a fountain placed in front of a small cave with stalactites and stalagmites and with a beautiful gazebo at the top from which it is possible to take a photo.

To return to the foot of the mountain Manuel Gomes designed in 1882 "the elevador do bom jesus", the oldest water-powered cable car and one of the 7 still existing in the world.
The route is 274 meters long, with a gradient of 42% and costs € 1.50 to go down (or € 3 to go up and down the mountain).Read more
