• The Texas State Capitol

    The Texas Capitol was inaugurated in 1888 and features a Neo-Renaissance style.
    Its dome reaches 90 meters high, making it even taller than the United States Capitol (the national Senate).

    Inside, under the dome, there’s a mosaic floor featuring the symbol of the USA, along with references to the Republic of Texas, and to Mexico, Spain, and France.

    On opposite sides of the dome are the two chambers: the Texas Senate and the Texas House of Representatives 🏛️ The building is truly majestic and imposing.

    We could take pictures in only one of the two chambers, as in the other one there was parliamentary work ongoing and it was not allowed to take photos (even if we could enter and attend the parliamentary works). The period when we went was very delicate, as the redistricting was being discussed, which created great tensions between Republicans and Democrats
