    Beach time at Llanfairfechan

    July 26, 2021 in Wales ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

We really wanted to get some good beach time in but we only actually managed 2 hours on the whole of our trip as the weather was shite and even this little trip it turned out that the water was full of stinging jelly fish which was not fun either!

Still a small amount of fun was had!

  • Moving pitches

    July 30, 2021 in Wales ⋅ ☁️ 14 °C

So when we arrived at our campsite we had the most awful pitch that just looked at a hedge and yet behind this hedge was the most amazing view which everyone else on the campsite had except us! We started calling our pitch the pitch of doom! It also was where all the water went when it rained as we were at the bottom of the slope.

After a few days of us all being miserable and wanting to enjoy the views like everyone else I asked if we could move as we saw more spaces becoming available!

We moved to pitch 10 and although on an annoying slope we did finally get our view!!

    So we were all happy!

Sadly though the beautiful sunsets only happened a couple of times as it’s rained nearly every day!

Pic 1 our hedge! Pic 2 our new pitch with a view!

  • Cable Car adventures up/down the Orme

    August 1, 2021 in Wales ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

So Raif was desperate to go on the cable cars but they only run if the weather is ok!

We parked at the top and had to queue for ages to go down. It was cold and a bit miserable but he was excited!

We paid to do a return but only found out as we finally made the ticket office that we had to get off the cable car at the bottom and queue again!

Of course the queue was HUGE and then it started raining and the cable cara couldn’t run until the weather front had passed 😩

We couldn’t leave the queue as we needed to get back up and Raif was desperate to go back up on the car although he was being really naughty in the queue.

The queue back up took 2 hours stood in the wind and rain until finally the sun came back out and we could get back up to the car for a much needed coffee/hit chocolate and lunch!

  • Catching the train up Mount Snowden!

    August 1, 2021 in Wales ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

As we couldn’t walk as high as we would of liked up Mount Snowden we got the train a bit higher! It was so cool and the views were just amazing!

    The kids loved it!

Expensive but worth it as a one of trip! The train normally goes right to the summit but sadly at the moment it’s only going 3/4 way up but it was higher than yesterday’s walk!Read more

  • Pony Trekking in Snowdonia

    August 3, 2021 in Wales ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

I have ridden all my life but not so much the last few years since losing my big horse Charley.

Laanii has set herself a challenge to ride a pony in every country and so we headed out to pony trek in Wales.

I won’t go into all the details except to say it was the most eventful ride ever which resulted in Laanii falling off and me having to bring back a lot more of my years of experience of being a capable rider than I should of for what was meant to be a lovely chilled hack!

Laanii was very brave and got back on and my legs certainly had a work out!

Still can’t quite believe how a lovely stroll actually turned out! Way too much to write here but let’s just say #disaster

No photos of us actually on the horses as I couldn’t take my phone and Ian had to leave as soon as he had dropped us there was no space for him to park!
