MCGTTX Day 12

If you can believe it, I didn't get soaked today 😱. Despite a train every 25 minutes or so, I did get some rest last night. But when my alarm went off at 0530, it was pouring. At about 0630 the lightning and thunder pounded across Oklahoma City while I stayed in my tent.
At 0900, the rain finally sputtered down to adjust a few sprinkles here and there, so I opened my tent flap. Apparently I parked in a Caliber Collision person's spot because they were parked only a couple of feet off my back bumper 🫤, and I remember hearing a bang earlier, which must have been their POS car door. [You work at a repair shop, dude. Fix your car 🤦.]
Anyway, I rolled at 0930, eager to be gone and glad that no one confronted me about being there. I was in such a rush that I forgot to tie my boots. But I was in such a rush to get to a bathroom that I didn't care 🤣🤣🤣.
I looked for a gas station along my route, and I find a Love's truck stop. Perfect! I get free coffee there. I can have a hot breakfast. And they usually have fairly decent restrooms. 19 miles away. I can do this. And I did. Barely 🤣🤣.
Yes, free coffee, hot breakfast burrito, take my meds, brush my teeth, wash my face, make some phone calls, update last night's Day 11 post, and check the weather. Crap.
150 miles to go. It's warm. I don't need rain gear. That's usually my famous last words before I get soaked. But not today!! I missed all the bad stuff except some wet roads, road spray, and just enough drops to put my visor down here and there. Yay!
Now the bike is parked under the overhang at the hotel and I had DoorDash bring me some Shiner Bock beer. Yessir, how d'ya do!!
Not a terrible day.
✌️
P.S.: How is it legal to have Texas plates on your car and boast an OU emblem? And you drive like shit, too. Get off my ass or I'll go even slower, traitor. 🖕Read more
