Wind Sucks

All day, windy like crazy. But first....

I got rolling around 0430 without having any issues during the night.

If I missed telling you, I got Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa Capitol buildings in 2 days 🤣. So today, I got Kansas in Topeka.

I rolled so very early to miss all the work traffic. Success! When I got there at 0615, not a car in sight. Of course, that could have had something to do with it being Saturday 🤦🤣. Oh well.

Today, Iowa beat Illinois for the Windiest State award 🤣. My weather app said winds at 10 mph, but the flags along the way looked like the one on the moon and the bike was sideways. Again, riding in that string of winds is really tiring, so I decided--since I only have about 300 miles left to get to Milwaukee--I'd stop for the night. It's practically impossible to free camp on the bike during daylight, so I hoteled it again.

Now, I'm enjoying a locally brewed cream ale at a brew house down the street. Gonna be a good night 🍻!

Oh yeah, other than the Capitol, the Iron Butt sign was so cool!!!
