It's later.
I left Sound HD at 0430 after only 3 hours of sleep. I booked it up to Blaine WA to grab the last of the four 4 Corners locations on the SCMA USA Four Corners Ride, but I'm doing them for AULDR.
After another Tour of Honor photo, I wound my way through North Cascades National Park, which is HOG's 50 Rides location and an amazing road! Must ride!! I popped out of there in Winthrop WA. The last time I was there was 2024 when the Diablo decided she didn't want to go anymore and quit on me. Bad girl. No problems with Michael though. Good boy.
I headed further south back into Oregon to grab its last Tour of Honor stop, but the rest of the day was just fine. Other than being exhausted and dancing to stay awake, all good.
I found a rest area with only a couple of folks there. It had a kind of lean-to, half-building thing with a couple of historical posters peeling off the walls. But it was really dark against the back wall.
I thought, "Oooo! Perfect! Right on front of the bike, but totally dark." I picked up my cot and walked inside. Something moved. Scurried. Down the wall opposite me, from the ceiling to the floor. I didn't actually see it; I just saw the movement of shadows. What was that?!
The first thing that crossed my very tired mind...no kidding, I was that tired...was a Facehugger. You know, the weird spider-like thing from the Alien movies. Then I thought, probably a rat. Either way, I wasn't sleeping in there. So, I put the cot on the sidewalk under the lightpole next to the bike and had a great sleep. No Facehuggers allowed on this trip!
