Tour of Valor Day 6

Being back to sleeping outdoors means getting up at o-dark-thirty to pack up and roll before anyone realizes I've been there. So, today I'm back to my normal mileage, which felt great 😁!

After getting the photo at Pig Trail HD, I squiggled along US 62 to Eureka Springs. Great road!!

From there I turned north and was pretty on boring highways and interstates the rest of the day. I had to deal with a significant amount of RVs and boats, the former of which tended to be tying up the left lane and the latter of which tended to be stranded on the side of the road with flats 🤦.

I wasn't looking forward to riding through St Louis, but I suppose the holiday made rush hour lighter, so I didn't have any significant problems.

When I got to St Charles HD for the pic, I ran into one of the rally members who thought we had dinner there tonight. Nope. It's Monday and they're closed, so no rally support 😔. He was staying in town there like the rally schedule of events planned, but over the course of the day I realized that the further north I went, the cooler and dryer the weather turned. So, I decided to keep heading north to Peoria, where well have out next dinner tomorrow.

So, here I am, tucked away in a dark corner of another church parking lot in Peoria. It's about 65°F and no chance of rain 😁, so I'm next to the bike on my chaise lounge inside my sleeping bag for the first time in a while, and lying on my deflated air mattress. A couple of the chambers disconnected and now there's a big air lump in the middle 😔. Oh well. An early stop, but other than the highway noise that won't bother me, it's a perfect spot. Great day!! 👍
