Ride Home - Day 1

I rode by myself this morning, leaving at 0600 to avoid some of the traffic on I-40. I rode two 50 Rides routes, NC's Hellbender (NC-28) and TN's Tail of the Dragon (US-129). I've been on both several times before, but I needed them this year for AULDR.

I also collected 7 HDs and 7 points for RTE 💪. It was a really nice day, all sunshine and almost 90°F 😱. There was so much traffic, though, everywhere. Really frustrating.

I had some extra time, so I went to Cycle Gear in Knoxville. I've been having a couple of problems with the helmet I bought earlier this year, and when they looked at it, they decided to just give me a new one 🤗. Unfortunately, they didn't have a white one, but a matte black works just as well. I personalized it this evening with a couple of stickers I picked up somewhere and with a white grease pencil 💪🤣.

We had a great dinner this evening at Smokey Mountain HD in Maryville. They are always a terrific host!!
