Forgot to get a dated business receipt for my stop at the Washington State Capitol. So at 2100 I turned around and rode 100 mi South to get some chicken fries at Burger King which included a dated business receipt. I just rode the hundred Mile back North and got to Sound Harley without killing myself. But it was a close call.

Will fill in the rest of this later. Got to sleep

  • Stop Go Stop Go Stoooooop Go

    8 juli, Förenta staterna ⋅ 🌙 61 °F

I made it from Dinner Pass on the western side of California all the way across the state to the eastern coast north of Eureka. I took squiggly roads the whole. Bad move.

Leaving the rest area at 0430, I veered off of I-80 onto CA-20, which is a great road. The last time I rode it, in 2022, it was under construction and just a single lane at one point. No way it's still under construction. Um, yeah, it still is. My first Stop then Go.

I finally got off of CA-20 and onto CA-70, which led me to I-5 for a few miles until I hopped onto one of my favorite roads, CA-299 through redwoods to Eureka. Again, Stop then Go, twice I think. But at least it wasn't raining this time.

After CA-299, I went north on US-101. Yep, you guessed it. Stop. 30-minute wait. Then Go. But only go 30 mph in a 55 zone because of the RVs and semis 🤦. There was some creative passing going on today. If not, I'd still be in NorCal.

When US-101 veered to the coast, I veered inland onto US-199. Again, construction. My GPS said it was faster to ride around the construction--250 miles--then to go through it for 70 miles 😳. I went through it. The GPS was probably correct 🤣.

I got to stay on I-5 for a while, no construction, then took a Byway on US-20. Yep, construction. Another Stop. 30 minutes. Go. 😭. By this time I was horribly pissed off. Every road. Every fucking road.

After that, I cut back north to Salem for the Oregon capitol building, then back on I-5 to get as far north as possible to try to avoid morning traffic. I made it north of Portland and into Washington, where I'm camped at a rest area. It's what there was.

Tough day. Lots of clutch work. Some fun bits on the squigglies when there wasn't anyone going 30 mph under the speed limit...which wasn't very often 😓.

Hope to see you on the road! Remember, NO WHINING! ✌️

  • Making Great Time

    7 juli, Förenta staterna ⋅ 🌙 55 °F

I'm a full day ahead of schedule, having made all of my Utah stops, including the Capitol, and surviving Route 50 from I-15 in Utah all the way to Carson City NV, my second Capitol for the day.💪

50 actually wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. The hottest part, 98°F, was the 100 mile stretch to get to the Nevada border. But once in Nevada, I kept going through mountain passes at 6,000-7,000 feet, which kept the temperature down around 85-90, so not too bad.

I made the entire 190 miles without stopping for gas. I taped two bottles of octane booster to my tank just in case I was getting to fumes. It was a good mpg experiment for the Hoka Hey.

And Nevada was easier, too, in that I've already ridden the 175 miles from Austin to Carson City, just last month, so snap.

The only thing of note was having to stop to get a squished bird out of my wiring. Poor little guy. He flew right into me. I hate that. 😓

  • Back On The Road

    6 juli, Förenta staterna ⋅ ⛅ 73 °F

Oh, what an awesome time I had in Golden! Awesome people, awesome food, awesome drinks, and awesome activities. There's a tubing creek in the center of town! I spent some time in the park at the big party, and then the evening I went to a place called Gnarly's. It's an '80s arcade with a bar and a stage. All the video games are free. They had a comedy show with six different comics, most from Austin. It lasted a couple hours and it was really good way to cap off the night.

Today I was back on the road. First I got service at Avalanche Harley, then I tore out across Colorado and am now in Utah. Good day of riding after a great break!!

  • Golden CO 💪

    3 juli, Förenta staterna ⋅ ☁️ 84 °F

I had trouble falling asleep, not going down until after 2300. But at 0245, I was wide awake. I set up my tent at the edge of a high school parking lot. I usually avoid schools just because, but it was a massive parking lot and fairly dark. Anyway, despite being WELL outside of the chain link fence, the sprinklers did not stay inside the chain link fence. The baseball field, the bike, and my tent all got a good dousing. I drug the tent out, but two diffe6heads were having a go at me, so by the time I found a dry spot, they had turned off 🤦. My brain didn't turn off though, so I've been awake ever since.

I kept to my rule:--no riding between 0200-0400--and rolled at 0430. At 0700 I faced a massive but brief storm and decided not to ride through it. Good choice 😳.

An hour sheltered under a Methodist Church and the storm passed. The rest of the day was pretty uneventful.

I made it to Golden and have checked into the hotel, taken a shower, consumed my free margarita (first tequila I've had in about 35 years), and am now on my way to walk Downtown Golden. Don't ask how much the hotel cost, but it's totally worth it!

  • Going Strong 💪

    2 juli, Förenta staterna ⋅ ☁️ 81 °F

I had a great day cruising from Sturgis to the South Dakota capitol to the Nebraska capitol. I even took time to eat lunch at one of my Ride to Eat locations and had a terrific lobster and shrimp po'boy with sweet potato tots. Yum 🤤!!

I also got the last South Dakota and Nebraska Tour of Honor stops, giving me 191 points. The couple in second and third have 123. 💪

I have about 700 miles to go to reach Golden CO, my next service stop. I'll get there tomorrow and find a hotel for two nights so I can enjoy the 4th of July festivities. My service is on the 5th 👍.

  • Ever Seen a Seagull's Cloaca?

    1 juli, Förenta staterna ⋅ ☀️ 82 °F

Well I have. And it was puckered up tight! 🤣🤣🤣

A flock of seagulls (great band) was on the yellow center line feasting on some road kill. I kind of rolled off the throttle but didn't brake (my normal protocol for birds), and they all took off like birds do (except ducks in South Dakota standing on the freeway or walking their ducklings across two lanes of 80 mph traffic 😳). Except one seagull decided to fly in front of me in the same direction I was going. I always duck (no pun intended) when I see birds, and it's a good thing I did, because when the draft from the front of the bike sucked him up, he went right over the top of me and thumped my helmet pretty hard. 🤣🤣.

The rest of the day seems pretty uneventful after that 🤣.

Success for getting the Montana State Capitol building, and now I am on my way to the South Dakota State Capitol, but I decided to stop in Sturgis for the night. I wish I had time to go down to Main Street and have a little fun, but I know better if I want to get up at 0400 🤣.

If I can do 1500 miles by the end of 3 July, then I can stay in Golden Colorado for the 4th of July festivities. My next service is the morning of the 5th.

    I'm pretty sure I can do 1500 and 2 days 🤣. 🤞

  • Back on the Road, But Not Until Lunchtime

    30 juni, Förenta staterna ⋅ ⛅ 61 °F

I woke up this morning at 0500 excited to get back on the road. I spent all day yesterday creating new routes and making my next 3 service appointments 🤣. It's a good thing I stayed two nights because a massive storm ripped through here yesterday. It would not have been fun--or probably even possible--to ride in that because the gusts were crazy. The storm blew through and all was calm by the time I went to bed. But I was so happy to be inside and so focused on my routes that I didn't even think to check on the bike after the storm.

About 0530 I took my things out to load up. The first thing I noticed was that my cover wasn't on the bike. I figured the wind must have taken it and started thinking about ordering another one. Then I walked around the other side of the bike and saw the cover shoved in behind my camping gear. I figured someone saved it and thanked them out loud. Then I noticed my handlebars were turned the opposite way. What? Was someone messing with the bike? Huh. Everything was locked and nothing else looked messed with. So, I kept getting ready.

Finally dressed and ready to roll, I checked out of the hotel and went to start the bike. Nothing. Well, a couple of clicks and flashes, but no fuel pump kicking on and no voltage. The bike was dead.

I went back inside, got back my key, and began the arduous process of getting Agero to get me a tow. Yes, Agero. Regardless of what insurance you have, they all use Agero for roadside, even Harley. AAA might be the only one who doesn't. They are an absolute nightmare. Anyway, I started that and waited.

The first provider didn't realize it was a motorcycle and cancelled. Then Agero called me asking if I still wanted them to find me a provider. Well, yes, duh. But, having dealt with them so many times before I doubted that would happen, so I started making my own calls. Or really, call.

The first company I called was Red Top Towing & Recovery and they could come get me around 0800. Cool. I got breakfast after all.

Around 0800, Alex "Al" calls me and says he's only a couple of minutes away and wants to look at the bike. Cool. I meet him and explain how it's completely dead and really needs to be taken to HD. No worries, he says, and goes off to get the rollback. Dude knows what he doing.

In the meantime I go back into the lobby. A woman comes up to me and asks if I'm the one of the white bike. She's Karen from North Carolina and on the Heritage outside. I said yes, the white bike is mine, then she tells me how she and 3 guys picked my bike up off the ground yesterday because the storm blew it over. 😳 Wait. What? She said the wind must've caught the cover and just toppled it. After they picked it up, she took the cover off and turned the handle bars the other direction to make it lean more to the left. Here's the kicker: after the bike tips over, the hazards turn on. They won't turn off until the bike is upright and the key fob is present to trigger the ignition. Since no one told me about the bike, and I failed to check on it, the hazards ran until they killed the battery. 🤦 But thanks so much, Karen for helping my bike out. You're awesome!

Soon after chatting with Karen, Alex came back, hooked me up and took me to HD about 6 miles away from the hotel, where I got a new battery. I rolled out of there about 1130. But I still had two things to do before getting out of town.

First, I wanted bear spray. Parts of Glacier National Park are closed right now because of bear activity. I'm heading to Montana and camping, so I want bear spray. Sport store located and spray bought. Check 👍

Second, Alex was so awesome that I went by they towing company to thank him again. Unfortunately, he had already left for another call, but I met two other employees and fell in love with the company dog. Everyone was so great!!! Check 👍

Two missions accomplished, so it was time to really roll. 80 mph on I-94 to Montana, then 70 on the back roads. It's easy to make a lot of miles in a little time up here.

I was considering stopping to camp at one of my photo locations until I actually stopped the bike to take my photo. I was immediately swarmed by mosquitoes. Bad enough that I had to keep my visor down. Ugh. Not camping.

Now, I'm in a little motel with the bike tucked up under the eaves just in case another storm comes through. It's an evening of scattered showers and I was just about to get drenched when I found this place. Awesome!

I've had a shower, noshed on a few garlic dill cheese curds, and dug out my DEET. I'll sleep well tonight, for sure!

What a way to end the month 🤣!!

  • Divert To Bismarck

    28 juni, Förenta staterna ⋅ ☀️ 82 °F

Although I set my alarm for 0400 this morning, the storm was still raging outside, so I reset it for 0500 and then 0600. I was rolling before 0630 trying to shave time off my ETA to Montana.

I was on I-90 with a speed limit of 80 mph and it still didn't feel fast enough. I considered some seriously risky and stupid maneuvers, but thankfully I chose not to execute. But I started thinking about how stressed I've been. This is not fun. And motorcycling is supposed to be fun. I started rethinking everything.

If you're reading this post, then you probably read my post from this morning about reprioritizing. It's the end of the day now, and I am very glad that I made that decision.

As I was squiggling through South Dakota to get to Montana I realized I was only a hundred miles south of Bismarck, the capital of North Dakota. So I decided to head due north to Bismarck before going to Montana so I could sit down with my computer and figure out my new routes.

BTW, if you're following my journey, you're probably thinking Bismarck sounds familiar. You're right! I left Bismarck exactly 7 days ago, and I don't know whether to laugh or cry at that fact.

BTW #2, if you're ever in South Dakota, please make sure you plan your gas stops. This state does not put any warning signs that you are 150 miles from the next gas station. And if you squiggle through the state, as in left right left right left right, then it is very possible to miss every gas station. Also, the numerous reservations in the state have the right to close their borders and not allow outsiders to enter even for gas. You've been warned 😉.

Anyway, since it was only 1500 when I got here, I decided to take care of some housekeeping business. First I went to Best Buy to get a new screen protector on my phone. Then I found a hotel and booked it for two nights. Then I took my photo at the capitol building. Then I checked in. A short run to Super Walmart down the street for food and adult beverages, and before 1800 I was in my room, in my sleeping clothes, doing laundry, and drinking one of those beverages 🍻.

Now, laundry is done and I am happily seated behind my computer watching Netflix, refusing to work on my route until tomorrow. I'm taking the night off.

Hope to see you on the road! Remember, NO WHINING! ✌️

  • Prioritizing

    28 juni, Förenta staterna ⋅ ⛅ 72 °F

Motorcycling is supposed to be fun, right? Well, it's not. Not for me right now.

I have no doubt that getting my 100,000 miles this year is going to happen, but I've been super stressed about being able to finish the states in alphabetical order before the end of October while also doing all of HOG's touring rallies. I've been riding like a banshee, taking some unnecessary risks and not getting enough rest, relying on caffeine and 5-Hour Energy to get me through the day. That's fine for a couple of weeks during the Hoka Hey, but I can't sustain that for months. I won't.

So, I'm prioritizing. The rallies are more important to me than the states, seeing my friends and making new ones. Therefore, I've decided to continue visiting the state capitol buildings, just not in alphabetical order, which is still an Iron Butt challenge. Right now, I'm on my way to Montana then Nebraska as planned, but when I head towards Nevada, I'll hit Wyoming and Utah along the way.

As much as I abhor not finishing anything I take on, I know this is the correct decision because I immediately felt the weight lift.

Thanks for riding with me on this adventure, and I hope to see you out there. ✌️

  • Using My Bike's Warranty Again

    27 juni, Förenta staterna ⋅ 🌬 75 °F

On Thursday at a gas stop I noticed a couple of drips under the crankcase and spots on the left pipe. I thought it was residual from the service. I didn't think much more about it yesterday, but when I woke up this morning, I had the same drips under the bike. So at my first gas stop this morning, about 30 miles down the road, I cleaned underneath the primary and down the pipe as well as I could. When I got to the next gas stop 150 miles later, fresh drips and fluid on the pipe. 😳

I was already headed to Legendary Harley-Davidson in Carroll IA, so I just kept going as planned. I got there right as they opened at 1000, and they rolled Michael in immediately. They figured it was the o-ring on the drain plug. However, when they got him on the lift, they found it to be much more serious.

At 1530, I rolled out with a new transmission main gear seal (the one behind the primary) at a cost of $50, my warranty deductible. Say what you want about warranties, but the one I got on Michael has saved me thousands of dollars. And I just bought another year to keep him covered.

Unfortunately, this ate up all my extra time and has put me behind schedule. But that's the thing with plans, right? I also cut about 2 hours off of my ride tonight because of the very strong wind gusts in front of a big storm that's going to blow through tonight. I'm fairly certain my new tent would handle it, but I really just want air conditioning for one night. 🤣

Bonus: When I got to take a shower this evening, I remembered about the tick crawling on my face yesterday. I only found one tonight, attached on my ribs. I have a travel sewing kit with tweezers, so I took a chunk of flesh out to make sure I got its head. Either it hadn't been attached long or it wasn't in a juicy spot, because it didn't look like it had sucked anything out of me 🤣. And the skin isn't red or irritated at all, so I'm not worried about it. 👍

    Sometimes it's good to stop.

  • Two More Capitol Buildings 💪

    26 juni, Förenta staterna ⋅ ☁️ 72 °F

I didn't get hardly any sleep last night. I went to bed dripping with sweat, then woke up about 2 hours later shivering and covered in dew. I put my shirt and leggings back on and went back to sleep for another hour or so, but was up before 0400 😞.

I was so tired that at noon I had to stop at a roadside rest area. I planned to take a 2-hour nap, but only 15 minutes after falling asleep, I woke to something crawling on my face. A tick. Ugh. I squashed him and thumped him away, but I started feeling like things were crawling all over me. It took some serious meditation to get back to sleep, but I was so tired that I did fairly quickly. Another hour of sleep and then I goofed on my phone until the two hours were up. I felt a lot better after that break. BTW, I sleep on top of the picnic table 🤣.

Got both Mississippi and Missouri capitols knocked out today, as well as completing Missouri in AULDR 👍. The only inter thing was a big doe and a tiny fawn almost ran out in front of me. The fawn was about half a stride in front of her, but when she stopped, so did it. In the right shoulder. I was downshifting and braking like crazy and saying "shit shit shit" 🤣. I guess she heard the bike because they both turned and darted back into the bushes before I got to them. Lucky me.

I'm camped at Outlaw HD again and on my way to Montana 🤞.

  • Service

    25 juni, Förenta staterna ⋅ 🌙 77 °F

I spent most of today (0830-1730) at Lone Star HD in Tyler TX getting my 110,000-mile service. They also put on my new Dunlop tires, replaced my rear brake pads since the tire was already off, replaced my clutch plates (they were warped and it's been über difficult to find neutral), fixed the leaking shift shaft seal, and replaced my completely shot swing arm bearings. Michael is running tip top now, and I'm much happier with the rear suspension and an easy neutral.

Leaving there, I jumped on I-20 and tore out to Jackson MS where I'm camped at the local HD. I got a refresher course on my bike jack in the gravel parking lot when I was turning around and hit a deep spot that tipped me over. Man, am I glad I have that jack!!

I don't know how much sleep I'll get because it's over 80°F and humid AF 🥵. But I'm in my new tent for the first time and all the doors and windows are open with the netting closed. I'm sweating so much that I didn't bother pulling out any of my camping stuff, like the sleeping bag or air mattress. I need to move my inflatable pillow to somewhere more easily accessible though.

Mississippi Capitol Building in the morning! 👍

  • Home for a Breath

    24 juni, Förenta staterna ⋅ ☀️ 88 °F

I was up at 0400 again, and rolling out of Wichita by 0430. Looking at my weather apps, I thought I could beat the looming storm by streaming due south on I-35. I was mostly right, but I still hit a pretty bad one. The rain was hard and torrential, but it didn't last long, so I didn't get soaked 👍. The lightning was everywhere and I flinched every time it lit up the world around me 😳. Scary, but I got through it.

I made it to my little town just before noon. My first stop was to get my mail. By the time I got off my helmet and made it inside, the folks who run the mail service were already pulling out my stuff 🤣. A huge box with my new pop-up tent, a small Amazon box, and a stack of envelopes, mostly from Harley 🤣. I sorted it, strapped it to the bike, and rolled to eat lunch. Whataburger, of course 🤣.

After lunch, I made it to the barn. So nice to be home, even if it is for only one night.

Hope to see you on the road! Remember, NO WHINING! ✌️

  • Heading to Texas (the Squiggly Way)

    23 juni, Förenta staterna ⋅ 🌙 70 °F

I left Bismarck at 0630 this morning bound for Texas. I squiggled my way across to Jamestown, then south through Sioux City, Omaha, and Topeka. Unfortunately, the HOG 50 Rides road for Kansas was completely closed for repaving, but I got the rest of my pics and finished South Dakota in AULDR 💪.

Now, I'm camped at Twister City HD and need to be up early so I can make it home in time to get my mail 🤞.

Good day with no rain on me, but a lot of wet roads. Winning!

Hope to see you on the road! Remember, NO WHINING! ✌️

  • Posse Ride Day 12: Rapid City to Mandan THE END

    22 juni, Förenta staterna ⋅ ☁️ 70 °F

My friend and I left Rapid City just before 0500 and beelined to Theodore Roosevelt National Park. We did the South Entrance Badlands Loop and saw a ton of 🦬🦬🦬🦬, some with tiny calves. Luckily, we didn't have to deal with any moms and babies, just big bulls along the side of the road. What a great ride!!!

After that, we beelined to Mandan (Bismarck) for our final dinner and fellowship. It was great seeing everyone again and meeting new friends. I hope to see everyone again very soon!!

Another terrific Posse Ride from HOG!! Yeehaw!

  • Posse Ride Day 11: Still in Rapid City

    21 juni, Förenta staterna ⋅ 🌧 61 °F

Today was a soggy mess, but I had to get my pics.

It was super foggy to start, but by the time I got down to Custer State Park, the fog and mist had cleared. On the Wildlife Loop I saw pronghorn antelope, lots of prairie dogs, the donkeys trying to sleep with tourist poking at them, and more 🦬. Cool.

Rain kicked in not long after, while I was on Iron Mountain Road, and it didn't really stop. I made all my stops, including the Crazy Horse Memorial, which is simply awesome, and the HDs in Hill City, Deadwood, and Sturgis.

Then I turned back to Rapid City to do laundry at a Laundromat I've been to on other trips. Still good 👍.

All clean, I headed back to the hotel. My friend and I walked about a mile to dinner, but Ubered back because of the misty rain. When we got back, one of our fellow Posse Riders told us there was a murder-suicide in the hotel today 😳. Our door is locked and we're going to sleep just fine 🤞.

Hope to see you on the road! Remember, NO WHINING! ✌️

  • Posse Ride Day 10: Billings to Rapid City

    20 juni, Förenta staterna ⋅ ☁️ 68 °F

Lots of stops today, so I was on my own.

I took a cool road, basically a farm road with loose livestock, from Manderson to Tensleep WY. It served as a cutoff from US-20 to US-16. But US-16 east of Tensleep was an amazing ride! With snow up top, but none on the road, the twists and squiggles were awesome but not crazy technical. Super fun and a must ride!!

I wound up at the Center of the US in Belle Fourche, which was an interesting stop at the Tri-State Museum. I'll have to go back when I have time to lookeeloo.

On my way to Rapid City, I was planning to hit the HD in Deadwood, but I saw a lightning storm over the Black Hills and said nope. Instead, I blew past Rapid City and went straight to Wall SD, Badlands HD, and Badlands National Park. I saw lots of buffalo, mountain goats, and prairie dogs 😁. Always a joy to see wildlife when it's not in the middle of my lane 🤣.

I made it to Black Hills HD just before dinner was served. 👍

The biggest event of the day was rolling over 60,000 miles for the year 😱!!! 💪💪💪 So happy to be that much closer to my goal!!

  • Posse Ride Day 9: Missoula to Billings

    19 juni, Förenta staterna ⋅ 🌙 64 °F

My friend and I basically followed I-90 all day. We had one awesome stop in the town of Anaconda: Anaconda Stack State Park. The Anaconda Stack is the largest free-standing masonry structure in the world! Definitely stop to check it out. I'd like to bring my RV to the town to stay for a week or so. Pretty neat place.

  • Posse Ride Day 8: Lewiston to Missoula

    18 juni, Förenta staterna ⋅ ☀️ 72 °F

What a terrific day of riding. Short but amazing! US-12 from Lewiston to Missoula, aka Lolo Pass, is one of the top motorcycle roads in the Lower 48, IMHO. If you haven't ridden it, put it on your list and be sure it's towards the top. If you have, I bet you can't wait to get back.

Once we got into Missoula, we stopped at my friend's favorite place, Dairy Queen, for a dip cone, then rolled on to the hotel.

After a lovely dinner and fellowship at Young Grizzly HD, it was back to the hotel for a hot shower. Now, I'm just about to go to sleep.

  • Posse Ride Day 7: Bend to Lewiston (Sort Of)

    17 juni, Förenta staterna ⋅ ☀️ 75 °F

I had a good sleep in the Volcano HD parking lot. At 0500, I packed up, moved the bike to the service area, unloaded my camping gear, and took my laptop over to McDonalds across the parking lot. Unfortunately, they didn't open until 0600, so I hung out until then.

At 0900 a couple of gentlemen watched my stuff while I ran back over to Volcano to get the bike checked in. That done, I packed up my stuff at McDonald's and moved back over to the HD.

At 1030 😱 the bike was done and I loaded up and rolled out, trying to make it to Lewiston, Idaho, before 1800.

I was on some great roads, including the Oregon 50 Rides route on Historic Route 30 and US12 between Waitsburg and Lewiston. I've been up here before, but the beauty still moves me. Definitely get your bike up here 👍.

By cutting out my last two stops, I made it to Hells Canyon HD in Lewiston at 1745 in time to eat. Yay! After that, I went 14 miles to grab the Tour of Honor stop I skipped, but didn't go a further 33 miles to the Ride to Eat stop simply because of the distance. I could've used some ice cream though 🤣.

Once back at the hotel, I met up with a bunch of other Posse Riders for some drinks, then crashed after a long hot shower. Great day.

Hope to see you on the road! Remember, NO WHINING! ✌️

  • Posse Ride Day 6: Redding to Bend (Nope)

    16 juni, Förenta staterna ⋅ 🌙 66 °F

I left Medford at 0430 hoping to see no deer, elk, etc., and I didn't 👍.

Another day of collecting photos. I was so looking forward to hitting the coast and driving up US-101. It's such a beautiful drive. Meandering into the cool evergreens then emerging into the sunlight. Winding along cliff faces overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Unfortunately, all I got to see this time were tail lights 😒. RVs barely going 30 mph when they weren't completely stopped trying to back in somewhere 🤦. Googly eyed tourists walking out into the street without looking 🤦. It was a nightmare.

Then I got to turn inland to grab a photo, and I was happy to be able to take a different route north...until I saw the "Road Closed" sign. I had to go about 20 miles back south to the 101 again. It was bumper to bumper for about 2 hours 😞.

I finally made it into Portland then out of Portland and into Washington where I ate halibut at Freddy's Just For the Halibut 🤣. Yummy.

Now that I've dipped into Washington, I only have Montana and North Dakota left to say I've been in all of the Lower 48 this year 👍. And I'll be in both of those when I get back on this Posse Ride rally tomorrow after my service in the morning at Volcano HD, which is also where I'm sleeping tonight 👍. Winning!

  • Posse Ride Day 5: Carson City to Redding (Nope)

    15 juni, Förenta staterna ⋅ 🌙 77 °F

Sorry I haven't updated you in a while. It's been a crazy past several days. I will eventually update the posts with no text, but bear with me for now.

Today's HOG rally plan was to go from Carson City to Redding, but the dealership there is not supporting us 😒. So, with no dinner, door prizes, or camaraderie at the HD, I decided to squiggle up through Oregon to get my Ride To Eat, Tour of Honor, AULDR, and HD photos. 👍

  • Posse Ride Day 4: Free Day

    14 juni, Förenta staterna ⋅ ☀️ 91 °F

We may have had a second night in Carson City, but that doesn't mean I don't ride!

I picked up some Ride to Eat stops (including one down a nasty gravel road), plus 1 Tour of Honor to complete Nevada 💪 and the HD in Reno.

While in Reno, I also stopped by Cycle Gear and got a new helmet. Sooo much better 👍.
