    Lyon Gourmet tour

    We managed a very quick lunch turnaround and then set out again on foot for the gourmet food tour of Lyon. Our guide called Megan was very good and we enjoyed expert information about wonderful good. First of all we went to a chocolatier and the ganache was to die for. Secondly, we went for amazing cheese and learned all about the MON awards which are given out to masters of whatever area they specialise in for example making cheese. These awards are harder to get than Michelin stars and people have to be the best of the best in their career. Next was a visit to Biscuitire Mercredi where we had yummy cookies including ones which is the same recipe as the Greeks introduced a very long time ago. Finally the charcuterie had brilliant meats and we enjoyed this and the wine very much. Clearly too much food today so I couldn’t really handle dinner but it was a good day.Read more
